Election Commission: Based on 96.41% of Tally Sheets, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.7%, GERB-UDF Second with 13.4%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results following the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial findings are based on the processing of 96.41% of the tally sheets submitted by various election bodies. The data compiled represents the work of section election commissions and constituency election commissions, with updates available as of 11:00 am on Monday.

According to the preliminary report, the document details which political parties and coalitions have successfully surpassed the mandatory 4% electoral threshold. The CEC operates under specific mandates regarding the conclusion of the voting process. The Election Code stipulates that the Commission must formally announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among all participating parties and coalitions no later than four days after the election day.

Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament are scheduled for announcement within seven days following the vote. This election marks the eighth parliamentary contest in Bulgaria since 2021. The release of these preliminary figures provides an early assessment of the outcome, though final certification remains subject to the completion of all counting procedures by the relevant election commission.
