The latest issue of BTA’s LIK magazine is dedicated to commemorating the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising of 1876. This thematic publication from the Bulgarian News Agency explores the historical event through its extensive archives, incorporating records of commemorations held over the years within BTA’s news service. The issue also features contributions from educators, public figures, and local community representatives from the revolutionary districts associated with the uprising.
The magazine is set to launch at the St. Cyril and Methodius School in Koprivshtitsa on Monday, April 20, marked as the Day of the First Gunshot. The presentation will be jointly streamed with BTA’s national press clubs both within Bulgaria and abroad, with support from Koprivshtitsa Municipality and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
BTA Director General Kiril Valchev noted that the issue compiles key discussions held at national press clubs across the four revolutionary districts: Veliko Tarnovo, Sliven, Vratsa, and Panagyurishte. He emphasized that the discussions highlighted crucial lessons from the uprising, concluding that its ultimate success was the achievement of Bulgarian freedom.
