Election Commission: Based on 96.41% of Tally Sheets, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.7%, GERB-UDF Second with 13.4%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results for the parliamentary elections conducted on April 19. These initial findings are based on 96.41% of the tally sheets processed by the section election commissions and subsequently reviewed at the constituency election commissions as of 11:00 AM on Monday. According to the CEC’s report, several parties and coalitions have met the 4% electoral threshold.

The CEC operates under the Election Code, which mandates specific timelines for the final declaration of results. Specifically, the commission must announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among all participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament are required to be announced within seven days after the election.

These proceedings mark the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The preliminary data provides an initial overview of the voting patterns. The CEC continues to process the remaining tally sheets to finalize the comprehensive results.

The commission’s official announcements will detail the final seat allocation based on the full count.
