Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch lift with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a 210 kg clean and jerk.

These performances proved decisive, leading to his overall victory. During the snatch competition, Nasar successfully lifted 176 kg on his opening attempt, though a subsequent attempt at 183 kg, aimed at a world record, was unsuccessful. In the clean and jerk, Nasar’s initial attempt at 210 kg was not validated by the judges following a review; however, he successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt.

For his final lift, Nasar attempted 223 kg in pursuit of a world record total but did not complete the lift. The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg. Romain Imadouchene of France secured the bronze medal with a total of 370 kg.

The results confirm Nasar’s dominant performance, marking his fourth major European championship title.
