Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a clean and jerk lift of 210 kg, leading to a dominant overall victory.

During the snatch portion, Nasar initially lifted 176 kg, setting the standard, and later successfully lifted 176 kg on his second attempt after an opening attempt of 170 kg. While he attempted a world record lift of 183 kg, he was unsuccessful. In the clean and jerk, Nasar’s first attempt at 210 kg was not validated by the judges following a review; however, he successfully lifted that weight on his second attempt.

For his final lift, Nasar aimed for a world record total with an attempt of 223 kg but was unable to complete the lift. The competition saw Armenia’s Ara Aganyan finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, and France’s Romain Imadouchene secured the bronze medal with 370 kg.
