While the overall Producer Price Index experienced a 0.8% decrease compared to the previous month (February 2026), it remained elevated, showing an increase of 8.1% relative to the figures recorded in march of the preceding year. The NSI detailed varying sectoral movements.
Month-over-month, lower prices were noted in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas, which fell by 7.7%. Conversely, the mining sector reported a 3.3% increase, and manufacturing saw a 2.2% rise. Examining the annual trends for march, the mining industry registered a significant increase of 40.4%, while manufacturing grew by 4.9%, and the energy sector increased by 0.8%.
Looking at the broader trend, the year began with industrial producer prices increasing by 5.9% month-on-month and 11.3% year-on-year. The upward momentum slowed in February, where monthly increases were recorded at 0.1% and 8.4% year-on-year, respectively.
