Industrial producer prices in Bulgaria slowed to an 8.1% increase year-on-year in March, according to data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI). While the overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for industry saw a month-over-month decrease of 0.8% in March 2026 compared to the preceding month, it remained elevated, showing an 8.1% increase compared to the same period in March 2025. Compared to February, the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas experienced a notable decline of 7.7%. The mining industry saw a substantial annual increase of 40.4%, manufacturing posted a rise of 4.9%, and the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas increased by 0.8%. For context, the start of the year showed industrial producer prices rising 5.9% month-on-month and 11.3% year-on-year. In the preceding month, February, the upward momentum moderated, with monthly price increases slowing to 0.1% and the annual rate at 8.4%.
