Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported growing international interest in the establishment, noting strong demand from visitors originating in Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary guest base remains Bulgarian, Zahov indicated that this international interest reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East. The Katarino SPA Hotel was recently ranked first among the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025, marking the second consecutive year it achieved this distinction.
This ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which aggregates guest reviews and ratings from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has received numerous accolades, including recognition as the best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and the best four-star spa hotel offering locally sourced cuisine in 2022. The hotel’s extensive spa centre provides complimentary access to various thermal and relaxation facilities.
These amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and multiple saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Additional features encompass an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium. For therapeutic treatments, the spa offers massages, hydrotherapy options such as flotation and Cleopatra baths, and specialized therapies tailored for stress management, recovery, and preventive care.
Further enhancing the guest experience, a new outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi was completed in 2023.
