SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported increased visitor interest from several international markets, including Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov noted that demand from abroad is also evident. He stated that this influx reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.

The Katarino SPA Hotel recently achieved recognition by ranking first among the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025, marking its second consecutive year in the top spot. This ranking utilized the HotScore™ index, which assesses guest reviews and ratings from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has accumulated several accolades, including awards for best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and recognition for eco-friendly practices in 2021.

The hotel’s extensive spa center provides guests complimentary access to numerous thermal and relaxation facilities. These include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Further amenities comprise an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, adventure showers, a tepidarium, and a panoramic relaxation area.

Beyond the facilities, the spa offers diverse treatments, such as hydrotherapy options like flotation and Cleopatra baths, alongside classic and deep-tissue massages. The hotel tailors programs for stress relief, recovery, and preventive care, offering both Western and Eastern therapies. The wellness focus continues to expand, highlighted by the addition of a new outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi in 2023.

Separately, BTA is promoting certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers in Bulgaria through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water” feature, which encompasses over 200 establishments. This initiative is connected to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in Varna, scheduled for May 11 to 13, 2026.
