SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported notable visitor interest originating from Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov indicated that demand from international markets is growing. He stated that this international interest reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.

Zahov also highlighted the hotel’s consistent performance, noting that Katarino SPA Hotel was ranked first among the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025, marking its second consecutive year achieving this distinction. This ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which aggregates guest reviews from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has accumulated several accolades, including awards for best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and recognition for eco-friendliness in 2021.

The hotel’s extensive spa center provides complimentary access to numerous thermal and relaxation facilities. These amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas such as Finnish, Kiva, and infrared. Further facilities include an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium.

Beyond the facilities, the spa offers specialized treatments, including hydrotherapy options like flotation and Cleopatra baths, alongside massages tailored for deep relaxation, recovery, and preventive care. The commitment to wellness is evident in the recent additions, such as an outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi built in 2023. In a related industry development, BTA is showcasing Bulgaria’s certified spa and wellness centers through its BG SPA: Salus per aquam feature, which is linked to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in Varna in 2026.
