Support 26-1 Military Exercise to Take Place from April 27 to 30

The Logistic Support 26-1 tactical-special exercise is scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo training ground. The central theme of the exercise is the “Deployment of a convoy support centre to ensure the movement of allied forces within the country.” According to the Defence Ministry press service, up to 200 military personnel and up to 50 pieces of equipment from military units under the Logistics Support Command in Sofia and Lovech are slated to participate. Preparations for the exercise involve transporting personnel and military equipment via the national road network from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo vehicle depot near Pleven, North Central Bulgaria, on April 27 and 30.

Additionally, the logistical movements involving allied forces are scheduled. On April 27 and 28, military personnel, vehicles, and supplies belonging to the Polish Armed Forces will travel through the national road network to participate in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 exercise in Greece. Their return journey through Bulgaria is anticipated on May 16 and 17.

Furthermore, between April 28 and May 1, rail convoys belonging to the Swedish armed forces are expected to pass through the country.
