Tarnovo Grand Hotel Attracts Guests with Mineralized Water at Renovated Spa Centre

The Grand Hotel in Veliko Tarnovo features a 2,000 sq. m spa center utilizing mineralized water. The hotel, originally constructed between 1967 and 1981, underwent a complete renovation in 2025.

This refurbishment modernized the interior while maintaining the building’s distinctive architectural character, making the hotel an attractive destination for congress tourism, international events, team-building, and individual stays. The modern spa complex is equipped with an indoor pool, a children’s pool, and three aquatonic pools. According to Desislava Dzhurova, sales and reservations manager, the facility offers diverse services, including classic and aroma steam baths, infrared, Finnish, and Himalayan cedar saunas, a hammam, and a salt room.

Additional amenities include a spa capsule, a salt and flotation capsule, an adventure shower, and a Vichy shower. Guests can also utilize five treatment rooms, a relaxation zone with heated loungers, and a beach area with sunbeds, complemented by a fresh bar and panoramic terrace. The pool water is mineralized with salts and purified with ozone filters, ensuring that the aquatonic water is gentle on the skin.

Nedko Nikolov, spa center manager, highlighted the flotation capsule, which uses high concentrations of magnesium salts to promote deep relaxation and aid in relieving muscular and joint discomfort through transdermal absorption. Furthermore, due to its location on the banks of the Yantra River in the city center, the hotel has an approved project to develop a pedestrian zone, construct an outdoor infinity pool, and revitalize a daytime bar with views of the Asenevtsi Monument and Art Gallery in Tarnovo. BTA is featuring news on over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers across Bulgaria in its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water” series, in connection with the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in 2026.
