Therapies, Hammam Rituals Draw Interest at Astor Garden, Aqua House Thermal & Beach near Varna

Eastern therapies and hammam rituals are generating significant interest among guests at the Astor Garden Hotel, according to SPA Manager Nikolay Popov, speaking to BTA in the Sts Constantine and Helena resort near Varna. Popov noted that the hotel is connected to the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex, which annually updates its services to enhance the visitor experience. He stated that modern guests seek variety and new sensations, prompting hospitality providers to meet these evolving expectations.

The complex offers comprehensive options aimed at improving both physical and mental well-being. Beyond the specialized therapies, guests can utilize various pools, including facilities for lap swimming. Popov mentioned that tailored packages are available alongside diverse beauty treatments.

However, Popov advised caution regarding certain treatments following invasive cosmetic procedures. Specifically, clients who have undergone plastic surgery or other interventions should avoid high humidity and steam environments, rendering hammam rituals unsuitable. While traditional massages remain an option, certain approaches from Chinese medicine may still be appropriate.

Aromatherapy is frequently sought for its rapid effects and is often combined with other treatments. Furthermore, guests can benefit from mud therapy, and management is considering introducing algae-based treatments due to the natural availability and health benefits of seaweed. In a broader industry context, BTA features a section highlighting over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers across Bulgaria.

This initiative is linked to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, in several key Bulgarian locations. BTA has been designated as the main media partner for this major health tourism event.
