The SPA Thracian Residence, situated within the Starosel Wine & Spa Complex in the Plovdiv Region, offers a blend of mineral water treatments and specialized wine-based therapies. According to the hotel manager, Videlin Piskov, the facility emphasizes the use of natural cosmetics derived directly from the complex’s vineyards. A core aspect of the spa experience involves utilizing products made from the winery’s output.
Essential oils extracted from grape seeds are incorporated into massage oils, toning serums, and eye contour products, while crushed grape seed pulp is used in exfoliating treatments. Furthermore, the center provides distinct wine-based procedures, including antioxidant therapies, utilizing wine mud sourced from the winery’s fermenters. These comprehensive therapies encompass aromatherapy, relaxing rituals, and standard cosmetic and massage services for both the face and body.
The complex’s mineral water, which reaches approximately 54°C, is noted for its benefits to the skin and musculoskeletal system, supporting detoxification and circulation. The spa area is equipped with extensive amenities, including indoor and outdoor mineral pools, a saltwater pool with hydromassage jets, a contrast plunge pool, Finnish and aromatic saunas, steam baths, a hammam, a snow room, a sun room, and a salt cave for halotherapy. The facility also employs kinesiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and massage therapists.
While Bulgarian visitors constitute the primary clientele in the autumn, winter, and spring seasons, the number of international guests increases during the summer. Germany, Turkiye, Romania, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg represent the largest contingents of international visitors to the Starosel complex, highlighting its reputation for integrated wine and wellness experiences.
