Thracian Residence in Starosel Blends Mineral Water and Wine Therapies

The SPA Thracian Residence, situated within the Starosel Wine & Spa Complex in the Plovdiv Region, offers a combination of healing mineral water and specialized wine-based treatments. According to the hotel manager, Videlin Piskov, the center emphasizes the use of natural cosmetics developed from the complex’s own vineyards. The spa’s unique approach incorporates elements from the local winemaking process into its offerings.

For instance, essential oils extracted from grape seeds are utilized in massage oils, toning serums, and eye contour products, while crushed grape seed pulp is employed in exfoliating treatments. Furthermore, the facility provides distinct wine-based procedures, including antioxidant therapies and rituals utilizing wine mud sourced from the winery’s fermenters. These treatments complement classic and therapeutic massages and cosmetic care for the body and face.

The complex’s mineral water, which maintains a temperature of approximately 54°C, is noted for its benefits to the skin and musculoskeletal system, supporting detoxification and improving circulation. The spa area is equipped with extensive amenities, including indoor and outdoor mineral pools, a saltwater pool with hydromassage jets, a plunge pool for contrast therapy, various saunas, steam baths, hammams, and a halotherapy salt cave. In addition to the physical facilities, the center employs kinesiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and massage therapists to enhance the guest experience.

While the primary clientele visiting the Starosel complex during the autumn, winter, and spring seasons are Bulgarian, the number of international guests increases during the summer months. Major sources of international visitors include Germany, Turkiye, Romania, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
