Thracian Residence in Starosel Blends Mineral Water and Wine Therapies

The SPA Thracian Residence, located within the Starosel Wine & Spa Complex in the Plovdiv Region, integrates the benefits of mineral water with specialized wine-based treatments. According to the hotel manager, Videlin Piskov, the complex enhances its offerings by developing its own line of natural cosmetics derived from the complex’s vineyards. A hallmark of the spa’s services is the deep integration of the local harvest.

For example, essential oils extracted from grape seeds are utilized in massage oils, toning serums, and eye contour products, while crushed grape seed pulp is used in exfoliating treatments. The facility provides comprehensive wine-based therapies, notably featuring wine mud sourced from the winery’s fermenters. These procedures encompass antioxidant treatments, aromatherapy, and various relaxing rituals, alongside classic and therapeutic massages for both body and face.

The complex’s mineral water, which registers at approximately 54°C, is noted for its benefits to the skin and musculoskeletal system, aiding in detoxification and circulation improvement. The spa incorporates kinesiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and massage therapists to support client wellness. Amenities are extensive, featuring indoor and outdoor mineral pools, a saltwater pool equipped with hydromassage jets, a plunge pool for contrast therapy, and various relaxation areas including Finnish and aromatic saunas, steam baths, hammams, a snow room, sun room, and a salt cave for halotherapy.

While Bulgarian visitors form the primary clientele during the autumn, winter, and spring seasons, the spa observes a notable increase in international guests during the summer months, with visitors arriving from Germany, Turkiye, Romania, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
