Thracian Residence in Starosel Blends Mineral Water and Wine Therapies

SPA Thracian Residence, located within the Starosel Wine & Spa Complex in the village of Starosel, Plovdiv Region, offers a blend of mineral water and wine-based therapies. According to the hotel manager, Videlin Piskov, the facility emphasizes using natural cosmetics derived from the complex’s own vineyards. A key feature of the spa experience is the integration of local agricultural products into the treatments.

Essential oils extracted from grape seeds produced at the winery are incorporated into massage oils, toning serums, and eye contour products. Furthermore, crushed grape seed pulp is utilized in exfoliating treatments. The center also provides wine-based procedures, including the use of wine mud sourced from the winery’s fermenters, alongside antioxidant wine therapies, aromatherapy, and general relaxation rituals.

Complementing these are standard treatments such as massages and cosmetic care for the face and body. The complex’s mineral water, maintained at approximately 54°C, offers documented benefits for both the skin and the musculoskeletal system, aiding detoxification, improving circulation, and promoting skin restoration. The spa amenities are extensive, featuring indoor and outdoor mineral pools, a saltwater pool with hydromassage jets, a plunge pool for contrast therapy, Finnish and aromatic saunas, steam baths, hammams, a snow room, a sun room, and a salt cave for halotherapy.

The Starosel complex attracts a diverse clientele. While Bulgarian visitors are predominant during the autumn, winter, and spring seasons, international tourism increases in the summer. The manager noted that the largest contingents of international guests originate from Germany, Turkiye, Romania, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
