Tsolov Takes Victory in F2 Sprint Race in Miami

Nikola Tsolov achieved his second victory of the Formula 2 season during the Miami Grand Prix, securing the win after a closely contested battle with Laurens van Hoepen in the sprint race. Tsolov now holds a nine-point lead in the F2 standings midway through the second round of the season. The race featured a sustained duel between Tsolov, driving for Campos, and Van Hoepen, representing Trident.

Initially, Tsolov’s movement into Turn 16 suggested an opportunity for Van Hoepen to take the lead. However, Van Hoepen remained behind Tsolov until Lap 10. By Lap 13, Van Hoepen managed to take the provisional lead.

The competition for the top spot remained intense, with Tsolov and Van Hoepen trading the lead for the next seven laps. The battle culminated on the final lap, where the two drivers exchanged the lead. Ultimately, Tsolov reclaimed the lead over the Dutch competitor on the final straight to clinch the victory, becoming the first F2 winner in the United States with a margin of 0.170 seconds.

Alex Dunne, driving for Rodin Motorsport, joined the fight for first place late in the race but ultimately finished in third position.
