Welcomes Participants in Three Seas Initiative Summit

Dubrovnik is hosting the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit, with a Bulgarian delegation led by Ambassador to Croatia Iva Kruleva attending. The city has implemented special traffic regulations in preparation for the event. Given that the tourist season is underway, Dubrovnik Airport anticipates a high volume of arrivals, including those associated with the summit.

Police are assisting with traffic management, and residents have been advised to remain patient regarding potential congestion. The 3SI functions as a forum for political and economic cooperation among thirteen EU Member States situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black seas. These nations include Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Poland, and several others.

Key strategic partners include Germany, the European Commission, the United States, Japan, Spain, and Türkiye. The initiative’s core objective is to enhance regional connectivity through investments in energy, transport, and digital infrastructure. The 2026 summit, also hosted by Croatia, will emphasize regional resilience and digital transformation, aiming to link the three seas countries with global corridors like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.

Romana Vlahutin, Croatia’s national coordinator for the 3SI, noted that while East-West connections have seen development, North-South connectivity requires more focus. She stated that the current gathering involves participants from 45 countries, positioning it beyond a purely regional endeavor. High-ranking officials attending the summit include heads of state and government from several nations, alongside international media coverage.
