Will Be Constructive, Responsible Opposition

Ayten Sabri, a Member of Parliament for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), stated that the party intends to serve as a constructive and responsible opposition during the 52nd National Assembly’s inaugural session. Sabri affirmed that the MRF will support policies that safeguard citizens’ rights and freedoms while also acting as a principled corrective against any deviation from principles of good governance, transparency, legality, and democratic standards. Addressing the need for a clear vision amid domestic and international instability, the MRF MP outlined several core priorities for Bulgaria.

These include enhancing the quality of life and raising living standards, achieving economic stability and growth, modernizing both the economy and agricultural production, ensuring food safety, and mitigating social and regional disparities. Furthermore, the party emphasized supporting young families, preserving traditional values, and solidifying Bulgaria’s European trajectory as an effective EU member state, alongside maintaining strong partnerships with the US and the Euro-Atlantic community. Sabri emphasized that the MRF’s actions will be guided by the commitment to the liberty, justice, and equality of every Bulgarian citizen.

She argued that this commitment is necessary to move beyond confrontation and restore a culture of political dialogue focused on common public interests. The MP asserted that democracy requires continuous effort—a daily choice of dialogue over confrontation, and the common good over narrow partisan interests. She concluded by urging Parliament to exemplify political maturity and statesmanship, demonstrating an ability to build consensus on key issues vital to Bulgaria’s future.
