Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. For the third consecutive appearance, the ensemble plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” intending to convey the shared emotion that unites them regardless of their geographical location.

The members of Samodivi reported that preparations are advancing with dedication, involving bi-weekly rehearsals and detailed costume work. The group is characterized as a small, cohesive unit featuring dancers spanning multiple generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a fundamental bond and a sense of community.

The festival, which is organized for amateur folklore groups performing outside of Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This initiative has hosted previous editions, including the first in 2015. For the 11th gathering in Munich, organizers anticipate the attendance of over 100 dance ensembles and more than 4,000 guests.

The overall event serves as a platform for international cultural exchange through dance. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) has been named the official media partner for the event and will provide coverage for all participating groups. The focus remains on preserving and sharing traditional cultural artistry across international borders.
