Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar’s performance was marked by strong showings in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.
In the snatch, he established an early lead with a lift of 176 kg, which was confirmed after opening at 170 kg. While he attempted a world record lift of 183 kg in his final attempt, he was unsuccessful. In the clean and jerk, Nasar’s initial lift of 210 kg was reviewed by the judges and not validated.
However, he successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt. For his final lift, he aimed for a world record total with an attempt at 223 kg, but this lift was also unsuccessful. Nasar’s combined results secured a dominant victory at the European Championships.
