Candidates Elected in Two Constituencies Declare Which One They Will Represent

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that fourteen candidates who were elected across two different Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) have formally declared their preferred constituency for entry into the 52nd National Assembly. The decisions were communicated during a CEC meeting on Friday, following an initial announcement on Thursday regarding the seat distribution among political parties. The CEC stated that the final tally of 14 individuals was reached after one additional candidate, Katya Paneva, finalized her choice of constituency.

This required several established members to declare a shift from one MMC to another. Specific declarations included Alexander Georgiev Pulev choosing MMC 27 – Stara Zagora over MMC 30 – Shumen, and Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev selecting MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia. Other reported changes involved Rumen Georgiev Radev moving from MMC 2 to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov shifting from MMC 25 – Sofia to MMC 16 – Plovdiv.

Further declarations saw Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev opting for MMC 24 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo, and Tomislav Peykov Donchev selecting MMC 7 – Gabrovo instead of MMC 23 – Sofia. The list of movements continued with Asen Vaskov Vassilev, Nikolay Denkov Denkov, Katya Maksimova Paneva, Delyan Slavchev Peevski, Dimitar Ivanov Avramov, Halil Redzhepov Letifov, Kostadin Todorov Kostadinov, and Tsoncho Tomov Ganev. The CEC is scheduled to release the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday.
