& Caravaning Expo 2026 Opens with Nearly 100 Exhibitors

The Camping & Caravaning Expo 2026 opened on Friday and will continue through Sunday at the former Sofia Land park area. Organized by Camping.BG, this marks the 12th annual forum, first held in 2018. This year, the event features 99 exhibitors representing Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Germany, and is anticipated to draw over 12,000 visitors.

The expo showcases the latest trends in recreational vehicles, including campers, caravans, and various outdoor activities, alongside camping and water sports products. According to Camping.BG founder Veselin Valev, interest in camping tourism in Bulgaria is increasing. He noted that while equipment costs vary widely—from inexpensive trailers to high-end campers costing millions—the choice between a camper and a caravan depends on the intended vacation style.

Campers are described as suitable for mobility and short stops, whereas caravans are better suited for extended stays in one location. Valev advised beginners to utilize regulated campgrounds, which offer amenities like showers and hot water, rather than attempting wild camping. He pointed out that while Bulgaria has over 200 campsites, infrastructure, particularly quality roads leading to attractions, remains a challenge for the sector’s development.

The expo offers a comprehensive program, including workshops on converting vans into campervans and managing solar power. The final day is dedicated to responsible camping, held in partnership with the For the Earth environmental association, featuring presentations on sustainable travel across various global destinations. Attendees can also participate in ecological activities and utilize the sports area throughout the event.
