Atanas Atanassov, chair of Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB) and a member of Democratic Bulgaria, warned that the potential division of the Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) parliamentary group would constitute a significant political error threatening the development trajectory of Bulgaria. Speaking following a joint forum with Continue the Change, Atanassov stated that splitting the existing parliamentary group poses substantial risks to the nation’s progress. During the meeting, Continue the Change put forth a proposal wherein two distinct parliamentary groups would register within the 52nd National Assembly.
Crucially, this separation would occur while the factions remained aligned within a common parliamentary alliance titled “For a Strong Bulgaria in a Strong Europe,” maintaining joint policy objectives. In response to the proposal, Atanassov stressed the importance of maintaining cohesion. Similarly, Bozhidar Bozhanov, co-leader of Yes, Bulgaria, addressed the public, emphasizing the concerted efforts undertaken to preserve the unity of the political group.
Bozhanov assured voters that the bloc remains dedicated to safeguarding Bulgaria’s modernization goals and its commitment to the European path. The discussion highlights ongoing internal deliberations regarding the optimal structure and representation of the political coalition within the parliamentary framework.
