Centre at Azalia Hotel in Sts Constantine and Helena Resort Attracts Growing Interest from Dutch, Polish Guests

Spa services at the Azalia Hotel in the Sts Constantine and Helena resort are attracting an increasing number of international guests, notably from the Netherlands and Poland, according to spa manager Nikolay Popov. He attributes this popularity to the centre’s utilization of natural healing resources, including mineral water combined with seawater, lye, and therapeutic mud. Popov also highlighted the high level of satisfaction among guests with the experienced specialists.

Balneological therapies are particularly sought after by individuals over 60, with common ailments addressed including musculoskeletal issues, herniated discs, and lower back pain—conditions affecting nearly three-quarters of older adults. Furthermore, industry trends indicate a growing focus on wellness across demographics. Lyubomir Stamboliyski, Commercial Director at Sts Constantine & Helena Holding AD, noted that since the pandemic, younger people have shown increased interest in health-focused care.

He stated that the average age seeking rehabilitation services is declining, moving from 40–45 to around 28–31. The services offered at the centre are evolving beyond standardized packages. They are transitioning into personalized protocols, mirroring medical practices.

These programs incorporate treatments using thermal water, mud, or specialized equipment, alongside guidance on diet, physical activity, and supportive supplements. To develop these comprehensive protocols, the company collaborates with external physicians nationwide, offering online consultation options. The resort continues to draw visitors from Germany and the Czech Republic, while overall interest in medical and spa tourism is expanding across the Balkans.

BTA is featuring these certified facilities in Bulgaria through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam” initiative, which is linked to the upcoming HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in Varna.
