Municipality to Introduce Temporary Traffic Changes for Giro D’Italia

Due to the upcoming Giro D’Italia cycling tour, the Burgas Municipality has announced temporary adjustments to the city’s traffic organization, effective from May 6 through May 9. The municipal press centre confirmed on Monday that significant modifications are necessary as the event and participating cyclists traverse the coastal area. To manage the influx of activity, several key central streets will undergo closures, and residents and visitors can anticipate various traffic restrictions throughout the specified dates.

In an effort to minimize disruption for the local community and guests, the Municipality plans to introduce complimentary buffer parking lots across the area. Specifically, on May 8 and May 9, the right lanes along Odrin Street and San Stefano Boulevard have been designated for use as these overflow parking zones. The schedule for the tour includes several key events in Burgas.

The official presentation ceremony for all participating teams is set for May 6 at the Burgas Summer Theatre. The action continues on May 8 with the final stage of the Giro D’Italia. The tour progresses to its second stage, which commences on May 9.

These temporary measures are designed to accommodate the high level of activity associated with the major sporting event.
