Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a clean and jerk lift of 210 kg, securing top marks in both disciplines for a commanding overall victory.

In the snatch, Nasar initially lifted 176 kg, later successfully confirming the weight after an opening attempt of 170 kg. During his final attempt in the snatch, he attempted 183 kg, but the lift was unsuccessful. For the clean and jerk, Nasar’s first attempt at 210 kg was initially invalidated by the judges during review.

He successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt. For his final lift in this discipline, Nasar aimed for a world record total by attempting 223 kg, but this attempt was unsuccessful. The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, and Romain Imadouchene of France earned the bronze medal with a total of 370 kg.

This victory marks a significant milestone for Nasar at the European level.
