SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported significant visitor interest originating from Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov noted the growing demand from international markets. He attributed this to sustained regional demand and the hotel’s established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.

The Katarino SPA Hotel recently secured the top spot among Bulgaria’s top ten five-star mountain hotels for 2025, marking the second consecutive year it achieved this recognition. This ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which analyzes guest reviews from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has received several other accolades, including recognition for best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and best four-star spa hotel offering locally sourced cuisine in 2022.

The hotel’s spa centre provides comprehensive thermal and relaxation facilities with complimentary guest access. These amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Further offerings include an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium.

Beyond the facilities, the spa menu covers massages, hydrotherapy treatments, and specialized therapies, catering to recovery, relaxation, and preventive care. Options range from flotation and Cleopatra baths to deep-tissue and hot stone massages, with dedicated programs for stress management and family wellness. The spa area continues to expand, highlighted by a new outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi built in 2023, emphasizing a holistic wellness experience.

In related news, BTA is featuring certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centres in Bulgaria through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water” initiative, which involves over 200 establishments. This effort is connected to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in Varna, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026.
