Rakovski National Defence College, the St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo, the St Cyril and St Methodius National Library, and the Institute for Historical Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The day’s events begin at 11:00 AM with a ceremony at the National Defence College, followed by the formal opening of the academic session at 1:00 PM in the Rectorate of Sofia University.
Historians are slated to participate in discussions across two dedicated panels addressing the landmark anniversary. Further activities include the opening of the exhibition “For the Freedom of a Nation” at the National Library, scheduled for 5:00 PM, and a poster exhibition dedicated to the April Uprising, authored by Asst. Prof.
Vladimir Terziev, opening at 1:45 PM in the Rectorate’s foyer. These coordinated events in Sofia aim to honor the historical importance of the 1876 uprising.
