The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. For the third consecutive year, SamoDivi will perform Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance, aiming to convey the unifying spirit inherent in their cultural traditions.
The members of the ensemble report that preparations are advancing with dedication, involving bi-weekly rehearsals and meticulous work on costumes and performance details. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a cultural bond and a source of community connection, regardless of their global location. The festival itself is dedicated to amateur folklore groups performing outside of Bulgaria.
The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The 11th iteration in Munich anticipates hosting over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 attendees. The event serves as a significant gathering for the international folk dance community.
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) has been designated as the official media partner for the festival, responsible for presenting all participating groups. The festival continues to highlight the preservation and sharing of diverse cultural traditions through performance art.
