Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova is continuing her visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday. The President’s press secretariat confirmed that President Iotova is scheduled to participate in a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative aims to bolster energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.
During her participation in the forum, President Iotova plans to address the critical role of transport and energy connectivity throughout Europe. In addition to the main summit proceedings, she is slated to attend an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs.” On the sidelines of the forum, she is scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas. The Summit is jointly chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Previously, on Sunday, President Iotova and Prime Minister Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. President Iotova also visited the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, which is named after the notable Bulgarian poet. During separate discussions, President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, discussed methods to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
